Water Resistance Guide

50m, 160ft, 5atm = safe for swimming!

Magnetic fields

Do not expose your watch to magnetic fields, which include mobile phones, laptops and computers, office equipment, and appliances. Your watch contains metal parts that can be magnetised, depending on the strength of the field. A watch may run slow or fast, and even stop if it has been magnetised. Temperatures: Do not expose your watch to sudden temperature changes (exposure to sunlight followed by immersion in cold water) or extreme temperatures over 60°C (140°F) or under 0°C (32°F). Examples: sauna to shower swimming pool to shower, or a hot day on the beach in the sun to a cold shower. A sudden change in temperature may cause condensation to appear under the crystal.

Batteries

Watch batteries can last between 2 and 3 years, depending on the watch type, its size, and the amount of energy used by the various functions. If the second hand begins to jump in 4-second intervals, the battery needs to be changed (end of battery life indicator). Bathing in the sea: Always rinse your watch with clear water, when it comes in contact with salt water.

Cleaning

For metal bracelets and for all water-resistant cases, use a small soft brush, i.e. Toothbrush in light soapy water. Use a soft cloth to dry it so that you do not scratch the watch or the metal bracelet.

Chemical products:

Avoid direct contact with solvents, detergents, perfumes, and cosmetic products, as they may damage the bracelet, the case or the internal gaskets. If you have been swimming in chlorinated water, rinse your watch in fresh water afterwards.

Showering with your watch

It is highly recommended NOT to shower with your watch on since watches are designed for room temperature water only. If you have a hot shower, the difference in the water temperature versus the room temperature may be great enough for the water in the air within your watch to attempt to evaporate. (there is air inside your watch otherwise it would fail to operate since a watch movement will not work in an environment where there is no air present, namely a vacuum) When this happens, you will see condensation or possibly small water droplets on the inside of the watch crystal or glass. This is the water in the air trying to escape. When the watch cools down to room temperature, this condensation will seem to have gone away, but all that has happened is the water has run down the inside of the case and into the movement. This will not be covered under warranty.
